Local rockers The SlashDogs have released an mp3 for download off their forthcoming CD release “Spilled Blood Calls for Vengeance“. Man, it’s damn good.
Of course that’s a given considering that ex-linkie, tat-designer, blogger, and designer of the below mentioned business card, The Reverend Wright, plays for them.
Launch party in a month, hope to see all you mo’ fo’s there…!

Business cards – link style
Posted by Rich...! under Uncategorized on March 9 2005 at 6:34 PMThe front and back of one of our new business cards, there are now 10 completely different designs, we let our clients choose.
Sure, we have no logo or CI, but we got a shit-load of brand…!

The little things…
Posted by Rich...! under Uncategorized on March 8 2005 at 9:04 PMIn January our cat Dexter was attacked by the dogs next door. We rushed him off to fourways vet where Dr Justine Downie and her team tried their best to save him, unfortunately he died two days later.
This evening I got this handwritten card:

Hell yeah. What an awesome gesture, I was floored. In today’s digital times, people, myself included, have forgotten the power of a handwritten note. Much respect.
It was such a nice gesture I (almost) feel bad telling you that she was damn hot too…!

A night of red carpets, glitz, glamour, joy, tears, nudity, and vomiting…

Cherryflava has taste. So much so that he’s asked us to host the Jo’burg SA blog awards evening. The date is next Thursday 17th.
We’re thinking either Cool Runnings (map with love from Cherryflava) in Melville, Cescos on Beyers Naude, or anywhere with hot strippers that allow photos (worse case scenario, we’ll bring our own).
Awards aside though, we want to see as many SA bloggers and blog-readers as possible, last time was loads of fun. Comment/RSVP with your choice of location.
Also, ../Ant and I are sponsoring the first R1000.00 on the bar…!

Get off your soapbox pal…

From Gauteng Blog:
| Local blogger advocates prison rape “I hope he lives. I hope he goes to prison. I hope the inmates fuck him a new ass…! “
Jo’blog |
There were no comments open, but I couldn’t let this go. Gilbert & Sullivan said it best, “let the punishment fit the crime”. Death penalty for murder, that’s an easy one. So what is a just punishment for someone who emotionally scars you for life by throwing himself in front of your car in an attempt to kill himself, while at the same time endangering you and your family? I think a bit of emotional scaring would fit that crime nicely, wouldn’t it Bubba?
But he missed the point altogether…!
PS. If you’re in advertising, I don’t really want you die, no matter how often I say it. Just thought you should know in case you missed where I was going too.
PPS. You can’t actually fuck people a new ass (colon issues etc.)
Update: GP has replied. This would have been far easier had you simply opened comments. I’m glad you stood by your original argument, I would’ve lost respect if you didn’t, I still think you’ve missed the point though.

Something for the ladies

I’m not afraid to say that I enjoyed a few Archer’s Aquas when they first hit the bottle store fridges, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to have another one ever since their tagline became “Something for the ladies”.
I’d love to see if their sales have improved, because guys (straight guys) don’t drink them in public anymore.

Selfishcide
Posted by Rich...! under Uncategorized on March 2 2005 at 11:11 PMSuicide is selfish at the best of times, always far worse for the people left behind. I know this.
What these guys did goes beyond that though: At 17h30 tonight, during rush hour traffic, two men held hands and jumped off the N1 bridge into Rabie Street below. Obviously these sad bastards were not content in offing themselves, they needed to destroy other people’s lives too, or worse, take a few innocents with them.
My wife and 2 year-old son drive that way home every (other) Wednesday.
One of the men died instantly, one is in intensive care.
I hope he lives.
I hope he goes to prison.
I hope the inmates fuck him a new ass…!

The debate continues

It’s been going on for years: Do men or women drive the best?
According to some folk it’s a bit of both. Men are more reckless, but more women speed. I, on the other hand, was complimented by old people on Sunday for my excellent driving. Although, 2 of my 3 accidents were my fault.
Just goes to show that men learn from their errors are are better drivers! Let the games begin…

Adrienne Bird – My kinda client
Posted by Rich...! under Uncategorized on March 1 2005 at 9:26 AMYesterday I had the horrible experience of signing a cheque for a R700k tax payment, you do that kinda thing and you can’t help wondering where the money goes.
This is just crazy loco, R44m for a 2-day conference?
| It is alleged that the conference, at which government and private-sector delegates are to review the progress of South Africa’s 25 Sectoral Education and Training Authorities, is to cost the Department of Labour a whopping R44-million – including a R9-million bill for videotaping the event. |
Fuck, we charge R26.5k for filming a two day event.
Time to re-look the old budgets…!
Update: More on this in today’s Star, I fucking love the irony here, it was a conference on sustainable growth
