A great ISP, with a great name. These guys offer 30gb ADSL for just R580p/month, I leached some of their bandwidth while I was at the gadget guru, and the mb’s just flew in.
What I really like is their attitude though, rather than cutting you off when you download too much, they celebrate you. Every day they publish a list of the people that download the most, with the caption: “Yesterday’s heros.”
Sign me up…!
Update: As pointed out by Robert, there’s a difference between marketing and reality, here’s two reviews to confuse you, one good, one bad.
Update 2: All you can eat have responded to the bad review above in the comments. Nice.

So apparently some students nuked a live cat over at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. I’m at a loss here, I did some stupid shit when I was younger, but who in their right mind does this?
| Tango the cat was cooked alive in the microwave oven and was found by her owner Nareen Rambharren, chief of security services on the campus, when he was alerted by one of the security guards who was looking for a box. |
I hope that when they catch these mo’fo’s, the punishment fits the crime…!
Update: and now this.
Update 2: the guy that strangled the cat to death (update 1) has been fined R1500. What the fuck?

From iol
| T-shirt maker Laugh It Off has won its fight against South African Breweries over its right to mock the Carling Black Label brand. |
Hell yeah, much respect to Justin Nurse and the Laugh It off team for standing up to the big boys – and kicking some ass (respect also to Judge Dikgang Moseneke, for doing the right thing).
Send congratulations to justin-at-laughitoff-dot-co-dot-za or leave comments for them here.
More proof that it’s a changing world…!

Today while driving in Sandton I stopped behind one of those new Audi RS4‘s. The license plate said “AUDIRS4″ So I thought it was pretty funny, ‘cos if you can’t read the big sticker on the boot then there’s something wrong with you! As I tried to open my pocket to grab my camera I looked up and this thing sped away like a demon.
Not because he was scared of getting his pic taken, but because a BMW Z4 had passed us on the left hand lane, and he had to prove his car was faster than the BMW.
And there I sat, in my little car, proud of my willy.

I live in a secure complex. 24-hour patrolling security guards, electric perimeter fences, big dog, alarm system, and a house bang-smack in the middle i.e. not on any perimeters. My wife just called, the night before last my neighbour (equally central) was woken in the middle of the night, tied up, and robbed at gunpoint. The security guard apparently let them drive out, although in his defense, what would you do when a guy drives up to the gate and points a gun at you? The body corporate has fired him, I think that’s a bit harsh, he’s a 20-year old with a night-stick, not Rambo.
I’m in CT at the moment, I feel sick inside thinking that it could just as easily been my wife and child that were held up – I have a horrible feeling thinking that a lady on her own would not have been treated as well.
The worst part is, I have no idea what the solution is. I’m hoping my boxer was the deterrent, my neighbour doesn’t have a dog, who knows though, maybe they just decided to hit him first.
Fuckers…!

If you’re a regular reader of this blog I ask you to please read this, and more importantly, even if you’ve never commented before, please let me know what you think this time.
So the whole "WANKER" thing is getting silly, the guy keeps coming back, commenting, and in effect, keeps the fires fueled, while at the same time making himself look silly. As you can gather we’re on the second lot of lawyers letters, his first lawyers decided not to pursue the matter, and we have been advised that he doesn’t really have a leg to stand on by others. So on that side I’m not concerned
Here’s the thing though, we’re keeping the post live as an issue of blogging ethics, I guess I’m just not sure that it’s the right thing to do. We’re getting a fair amount of google juice, and I can believe that it’s not great for his business. My question is basically this; is one mistake enough to warrant fucking with a guys career ad infinitum?
I don’t like the man. In fact, after the ways he’s handled this, I dislike him immensely. Again, I’m not sure if it justifies this though.
So, here are the options:
- Kill the original post (but re-post the comments with an intro for context)
- Rename the original post and remove specific references to his name so as not to fuck with his livelihood – comments will remain untouched.
- Keep everything as is, and fight-the-fight.
Please let me know what you think, and feel free to give your reasoning too. Do not make your decision based on the legal action he’s trying to bring on us, he’s been doing this for a month or so, we’re not worried, you shouldn’t be either.
This is getting so fucking boring, lets be done with it one way or another…!
Update(ish): Here’s Johnnie on a similar topic.

Yeah, I just had a chat with Mr EarthCore himself on Skype, and if I would quickly like to say; what an awesome guy. Now I’ll get on with it.
There are two points to this post. The first is to show off, because I chatted to him and, undoubtedly, you didn’t. Point numero duo is to re-punt his Podcast-only novel (the first, actually), EarthCore.
If you haven’t been listening with absolute devotion to every new instalment, and discussing it with other listeners at any conceivable point, than there is something wrong with you*. All the benefits of a great book, without the ‘hassle’ that plebeians usually associate with reedin’.
Go and fucking download the prologue right now, and give it a spin on your way home.
For those of you who need no further selling on EarthCore, chapters 19 and 20 are out. I’m all giddy with excitement. We’re barely half-way through (Scott told me).
* Or, you’re deaf, and then we really can’t fault you.

It’s part of the Business Blog Book Tour.
Pop-by and say “Hi”…!

Pop over to tmtd.biz and read the conversation between Jean and Tempest Car Hire.
If it wasn’t so sad, I’d laugh out loud… !
Update: Go read the Tempest letters, nice, plays to my damage recovery theory. Respect.

This is a bit late, but still worth a mention. Last month ATFN, one of the longest running bands (7 years) in the SA Punk Rock scene decided to call it a day. By the time they did, their sound had evolved far past their pop-punk beginnings into something very special.
I’m sitting here listening to Casualties of Thought and am excited to think about what these guys are going to achieve musically in the years to come.
Too much respect…!

The ever-so-gorgeous Jen from Neshamah is running a killer music and clothing distro from CT.
She has a crazy-good selection of music, merch, and other very cool shit.

Rox is putting together an evening of culture and conversation down in the Mother City next week. Of course by culture, I mean not farting at the dinner table, which, with this menu, will be no small task.
I’ll be there, so will Martin, Cherryflava, and Simon. The following people have not yet arseveepeed, but will be severely bitch slapped if they don’t make an appearance: Vaughn, ekapa(no excuses bro), ../jv, Rich, Mo and all other CT bloggers that are out there (oz?).
I feel that it’s only right to extend an invitation to my once-nemesis, the was-permalinked-for-a-few-days-seth too.
Adiós…!
