HntSo it seems a new phenomena has hit the blog world, familiarly known as HNT.

Now, I don’t know if Osbasso started it all, but here are the guidelines. And here’s the Google Blogsearch for HNT too. I can’t believe how many people are doing it!

Radios, banana leaves, shit, anything is reason enough to kill someone.

I think SA needs a National Anger Management lesson. Maybe two.

The other day I was flying up from Cape Town on SAA (my third choice airline, Nationwide rocks). So there was a delay in boarding, that wasn’t so bad in itself, what pissed me off though was that the SAA flight crew took lots of the available seats, leaving the passengers to quite literally, sit on the floor.

Saacrew

Now sure, they should have a right to sit too, but somewhere else, it was adding insult to injury, and it showed me that their crews just don’t get it…!

DinarodriSo Dina Rodrigues, the accused mastermind behind the baby Jordan killing, SMSed State witnesses. For what? No idea. But it’s still funny.

In other news, what extra-specially fun things happened on this day in history?

* 1652 – Jan van Riebeeck visits Robben Island for the first time.

* 1812 – Napoleon Bonaparte enters Moscow and Russians set fires throughout the city.

* 1959 – The Soviet space probe Luna 2 becomes the first man-made object to reach the moon and crashes onto the lunar surface.

* 1982 – Princess Grace of Monaco dies from the injuries she sustained in a car crash near Monte Carlo.

* 1989 – FW de Klerk is elected State President by the electoral college.

* 1996 – Bosnia holds its first post-war election.

* 2003 – Yetunde Price, a half-sister of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, is shot and killed in Compton, California, an impoverished suburb of Los Angeles.

All the others, as well as birthdays, here.

1312511-1We’ve got 5ish galleys (very limited edition uncorrected proofs) of Seth Godin and friends’ new book: The Big Moo, to give away.

Just leave a comment, preferably with a wee bit about why you want it (I ‘d basically rather give the books to people who will actually read and enjoy them), and we’ll send it off to you this week.

We’ll even pay the shipping anywhere in SA…!

So I was listening to my voicemail earlier and all of a sudden that MTN message tart started reading out the number of the person who had left me the message.

I knew I had hit a random number by accident, so I button mashed a bit until I found it again. It’s “0″. Basically, if you want to know who called you (especially cool for when you just here *click* – I hate that), just wait until they’re talking and hit “0″.

I think Vodacom may have had something like this for years, but you don’t always want to listen to the number so I guess this is a pretty cool alternative.

By the way, MTN are not paying us for this shit, it’s just that they’re the carrier D’ave and I use. If it was Vodacom or Cell C we used, we’d probably be saying good things about them.

Okay, so maybe not Cell C…!

JoblogpizzaOkay, so it’s not actually our pizza, but it’s fucking good…and so are we.

So it could be ours.

I tried this when I was in Glasgow a few months back, and Andrea made it again tonight:

Margarita with parma ham, mascarpone cheese, and chili.

I’m not joking, it’s a taste sensation…!

I’m not sure if it’s actually vanity plates I’m interested in, or just sad twats in general, but I saw this at Melrose Arch today:

Playboygp

(Hey Salami, I didn’t know you drove a Viper bro.)

It goes nicely with this beauty that tripeak sent me a while back:

Playa8gp

You just know how hot these two must be, shit, I may shoot a load I’m so excited thinking about them – and I’m straight!

Then Simon put me on to this gem.

Lastly, Andrei has a whole blog of em…!

Because work has been crazy loco, I’ve only managed to open my ecto today for the simple reason to tell you:

Spermbirds

Spermbirds rocked!

Two weekends ago Tempo’s on Hans Strydom Drive hosted a big-ass gig. Ten or so bands on two stages, which meant while one band was busy on one stage, the next band was getting ready on the other. Which means non-stop tunes that rocked.

Some new-comer bands started out the afternoon on the smaller stage. By new-comer I mean new-comer. But with a lot of practice, and some more practice, and maybe a teeny-weeny bit of much more practice, I’m sure they’ll be great!

The last four bands were Pestroy, Fuzigish, Humphrey the Teacup, and then the jamming set of the Spermbirds.

I’d never heard them before, shameful to put on the ‘net I know, but they were absolutely incredible. I was told beforehand that they had a Ramones-y type of sound… Not at all.

They were hard, with a helluva load of fun added in. Kids skanking to forty-something year olds in cargo shorts and sneakers, jumping in the air, rocking the place. It was beautiful. I miss the old days.

Bill Flynn on SegwayGotcha again. This is the second instalment of our Chlebs on Seg’s series. Expect lots more.

Bill had a lovely time here, recorded a non-humorous voice-over for us, and played a little on our Segway. Thanks for stopping by, Bill!

I almost gave him shit about the fact that he pulls the sign of the Devil in his new ‘Lasher Tools‘ ad, and that’s my trademark, but, you know… What’s done is done.

R Logo-1I just read Thea’s post about the Women in IT site/launch, and looking at the logo, couldn’t help wondering if there’s some carved-in-stone design law that says, “If it’s for chicks – use pink!”

Pink’s a great colour, and I wont argue that it’s feminine, but shit ladies, don’t you ever get bored of the constant stereotyping? What would have happened if the woman in IT logo was grey or even blue? Would that be a turn-off? I’m guessing it wouldn’t.

Oh, and you’re getting a raw deal to boot, lets face it, as a gender you get one bloody colour and now you have to share it with the world’s gay population too…!

Ps. While you’re at it, take a look at the site itself, I also find it pretty funny that it’s all the same old stock pics of hot woman laughing/smiling seductively. Shit, if this is how woman represent themselves, they really need to stop complaining about being treated as objects.
