The compliment to complaint ratio
Posted by Rich...! under Uncategorized on December 14 2005 at 9:17 PMDavid over at Pseudo-random ramblings has conducted an interesting experiment using hellopeter data to measure where the banks stack up against each other in terms of compliments vs complaints, high here is bad i.e Nedbank comes off worst (surprise surprise).
Pop over to his post to see how he got this result, he says it’s not scientific, that may be true, but what it is is real. It’s authentic numbers based on real-life data.
The banks (business in general) would do well to do more of this less empirical research…!
PS. I’ve written a wee bit more detail on this over at “Hello_World”

I’m with FNB, and they’re not too bad, but a bank is still a bank…
Banks are just procedural frameworks catering for people who need procedures; I don’t blame them for this, the largest part of the market is lost without these. Problem is, sophisticated consumers don’t appreciate simple, standardised procedures, and banks don’t get this – as I was reminded while sitting in a queue for an hour yesterday, just to have someone fill out and fax a form that I could’ve filled out myself!

Rich, after the last experience with lawyers, don’t you think you could be tickling a big lion’s ass with a very short stick?
That said – I’m in Oz at the moment, and bank fees are WAY less than at home, and service is brilliant. Which considering that everything else here costs about 3 times more than back home, is a good indication that the RSA banks are a huge rip off. Although, if the low fees and good service are at all driven by how much the Aussies whinge, I vote us Seffricans just suck it up…

dude as per my earlier comment, FNB is the way to go…
yes a bank is a bank is a bank, but pick the best of a bad bunch…
“everything is negotiable” and all you are really worried about is bank charges right ? so get them down and be as happy as can be.
