Back to school is (not) cool
Posted by Don Packett under Uncategorized on July 17 2006 at 9:34 AMA message to all the people who, from today, got on the road and traveled in my time:
For the past two weeks or so, or for however long that blissful school holiday lasted, I’ve been able to get to where I need to be in under half an hour. Today, I spent an hour and a half in the worst traffic ever.
A suggestion to help us all: Make them walk. Or buy them a bicycle. They’ll appreciate it when they’re older. Really.

I agree! How can school holidays make such a huge difference though? North Ridings like a different world for 2 weeks and then its absolute mania again?

Yup, try getting from Bellaires through Douglasdale to William Nicol at 8. Sucks nuts!

It was heaven on earth for those few days, it would take 30 mins from Bellairs to Grayston and it didn’t matter if you were leaving at 06:00 or 08:00….
Now, all hell’s broken loose. If you don’t leave before 07:00 there’s no chance you’ll get to Sandton before 08:00.
I hate school traffic.

Excellent post. I’ll make use of this asap. There should be more bloggers of this standard. Cheers.
