How chuffed am I?

My cellphone service provider was Smartcom, so when I had contract queries or needed additions or upgrades, I phoned them. As of today, they are owned by that fucking meerkat. So not only do I have to wait years and years for an answer on techie stuff, but a simple query or change to my contract fucks my day up now too.
Chuffed? Absolutely not. Vodacom, get more customer care consultants, ‘cos I’m in need of some attention. And if you think the rave version of a Backstreet Boys song beats Mick Hucknall as hold music, I’d say they’re about on a par on the “Songs you’d play to torture young children” list.
PS. I typed this post while on hold to 111, I would’ve been sorted before I finished typing if I was dealing with Smartcom.

the response time when calling their call centre stinks!! if u dont come right, log a complaint on http://www.hellopeter.com and someone should comeback to asap.. good luck in the mean time

What they do offer you is a call back service, pressing HASH when the dude tells you to. Thing is, the response time varies from 30min to never.
I’m so tired of holding, so call back is my only option. Luckily I received a call back today, but it could just be a good day…

If the current press rumours are true, the Spercount will be selling their 50% of Vodacom soon, and buying a big lug in MTN. Potentially Vodafone would then buy some or all of thise shares, and the change could result in some improvements.

The ceo of customer service to apolgise and to arrange for my upgrade to be done
At Fourways where the agents are friendly and helpful

well, a few months back i had to go get a phone repaired at the morningside branch. they have this electronic queue system where it gives you a ticket with a ref no and estimated time of waiting.. i suppose its for tracking foot movement throu the service centre. the ticket said about 24 minutes of waiting… eventually after 1 hour and 20 minutes i was served. the place looked like a zoo – customers everywhere, lolling on the pillars, crouching on the floor, the arms of the chairs and it was packed to capacity.
i was $@^@$ed off, so i called the Client Improvement Programme department (1 under the executive) and explained the problems to him and gave him my recommendations!! the following day the gm of customer service for gauteng also called me back said that he would implement solutions!! i went back the following week and there the gm was helping customers and making sure that the new solutions were running smootly, took me about 5 minutes to be served, they now even have a survey about their service which you do on your phone…. complaining helps and its great when they take your suggestions and make them work
well done MTN!! *david pats himself on the back*
