So the old adage is true, it’s not what you know…
If you’re an MTN subscriber, and you need any kind of tech support (I needed help with my HSDPA modem), call 1555, and when you get through, ask to speak to Given Sidze (he assures me that you can do this). I’m not lying when I tell you that this guy is the Rock God of the tech support world (honorary mention must go to Mpho Maja too).
What an absolute pleasure this guy was to deal with, kept me in the loop, was extremely patient, and most of all knew his shit. He even explained to me how I could check and fix the problem next time.
Well played…!

Always great to find someone you can ask these questions. I remember how pissed off I was when I got an Imate from Vodafone and the difficulties I had getting it work on the data network (purely because no one there had a clue – was all just trial and error!)
And for the sake of this guy, I hope someone from MTN reads this.

Rich, register (for free!) on http://www.hellopeter.com (local website) and give this dude a comment. The comments go to I think (Paul) at the MTN Customer Improvement Team (under the direction of the MD) so will get noticed and hopefully thumbs up will be given to him.
I had a prob with Nashua mobile, posted a comment that went to the office of the MD. Ive never in my life had better service from someone in Nashua mobile…
Go hellopeter.com!

That’s a rare, rare find! Someone who is employed by the network that actually knows something about the network!
Shame, the poor guy is probably going to be inundated with calls now

David, I tried bro, as soon as I wrote this post. I regged, got my mail confirmation and wrote the post.
Error after error, after error. I can only imagine it’s some kind of Mac problem. The service is good but the implementation sucks. I’d like to comp[lain to hellopeter about hellopeter.
*Grumble…!*
