Fan (i) mail
Posted by Rich...! under Uncategorized on March 5 2007 at 11:05 PMYeah, I gotta say it, I actually am an MTN fan. I post about ‘em a fair bit, not because I have to, just because they know how to push my buttons. Take their new product i-mail for example (nice idea, crap name, i-yawn) Oh, and respect to Andre for the heads up..

Basically, when you leave me voice mail, I get it emailed or mms’d to me immediately. Now as I use my inbox to manage my todo list, this service is the mutt’s nuts. Here’s one such message:
Loads of other features too. You can change your voice mail message online, and even have different messages for different times, so one for work, one for nights, one for weekend – that shit’s cool.
Fuck branding, the proof is in the product, and this product rocks…!

Surely this is only cool if you don’t have your phone with you but you do have internet access (being overseas)?
Or is it about having your voicemails saved on your PC for future reference?

Well I guess it depends on usage. I leave a meeting and usually have 5 or so calls, the majority of times I’m driving and need my mac or notebook for calls, so I invariably only get to my voicemail late at night.
This allows me to listen to it as soon as I check my mail i.e. exactley where I need to be.
I love it…!

If you are in a job where you get tons of voicemails, or if you have been away for a while and the voicemails have piled up, it helps to go online, see the whole list and prioritise which one’s you will listen to first.

Marketing the world over has gone iCrazy.
At work in the last few weeeks, projects that have been dead in the water for ages have all been re-branded with an ‘i’ infront of their names, and are suddenly new and exciting.
I’m thinking of re-branding myself at the moment. How about iBigGuy?
