One man and his iPhone
Posted by Rich...! under Uncategorized on September 4 2007 at 8:44 PMOkay, so I still need to get it unlocked which, worse case scenario, happens end Sept, the wifi works perfectly though

A small degree of jealousy would be appreciated…!

Looks good man, enjoy, I’m jealous.

Hahaha, Blake says he’s jealous, but I doubt that – he sold it to me.
We’ve been dealing with him for years, a great guy and a pleasure to deal with…!

Lekker! (You flash git…)

So Rich…!
Let me see if I understand this correctly.
You’ve bought yourself an iPhone for a crazy amount of cash which is locked for another month? So right now you have a kewl iLockedSmartWiFiGadget that one day should be able to do what Alexander Graham Bell did in 1876*? LOL. Fuck that’s KEWL!
I am about to go to the USA and would love to pick one up. Keep up the chat about the good and bad points!
*thank you Wiki

…Rich…! Hoox has a point, thats like buying a powerboat when you live in the kalahari, besides compared to the n95 I just cant see the point besides (i)blinkers

Very nice, but I’d have to agree with Powernerd. It’s just another Apple product – sexy and cool, but still pants.
September 5th, 2007 at 8:32 pm
Haha, Hoox, not quite, for a month I have a flash iPod and video player -that’s cool too.
Powernerd, for a month, it’s a fuly functional iPod with added wifi, so I’m hardly in the Kalahari.
Fuzzy, I’m an apple user but def not a mac fan, I’m desperately hoping for an alternative, however for now I stick with apple as it’s the best of a bad bunch. It wasn’t iEnvy that made me buy it, just general gadget envy, I get a new phone every two months or so, this was just another one I’m trying.
Now…
First impressions, this phone reminds me a lot of those cars they made that float on water too, one quote I remember went…
“A remarkable machine – it’s a pity that it swims like a car and drives like a boat.”
The phone itself is far from perfect, I haven’t made calls yet, but finding a contact is archaic.
Email prefs are stupid, coverflow doesn’t work in playlists properly, the recessed phone jack means my home cans work, but my gym cans don’t, you can mail me a picture, but I can’t save it, bowsing, even through wifi, is dog slow. I imagine dumping this not long after I get it working. I tried though.

If you’d waited a couple days you could’ve saved yourself $200.
September 6th, 2007 at 10:18 am
Hey Rich, you one of the dudes that paid 599 Dollars for it?
You know Apple provides a two week return right so if you return it now and buy it again you can save 200 Dollars

Fuck. I just think it’s an awesome gadget. Can I have it 2 months? LOL . .
September 7th, 2007 at 1:51 pm
“Haha, Hoox, not quite, for a month I have a flash iPod and video player -that’s cool too.”
Erm Rich…! had you waited another 24 hours you could have got yourself a newly released iPod Touch…which seems to be a pretty iPhone with out the phone…eek
Anyways, enjoy…I’m still jealous !!

Rats, just saw that, still, it’s no bloody good -16gb, what do I do with my other 50gb of music? You’d think that there would be 60 or 80 gig models to make migration easier.
September 8th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
Rich dear boy! This has clearly been an impulse purchase!
Now go get Dan Goleman’s book on impulse management…
What’s the adage, ‘Act in haste and repent at leisure!’
