OK, this is getting ridiculous.
For 2 years people keep writing about thier phone calls, which btw I got today too.
It seems that 28 Guildford Road is a popular place.

My point is, that what these guys are doing is surely illegal. There has to be more that we can do than publishing our experiences on a blog.

For one, I have written the whole experience to Carte Blanche consumer watch and to the Advertising Standards bureau. Other than blogging, there must be something else that can be done. Any legal eagles out there with some advice?

Was phoned by Marieke 0747211159 on 21/7/10. She assured me not a scam. I finally got the name of the company supposedly giving away the prizes Unique Connection. She was so convincing that all was above board, even when I told her I had been caught before with this sh..! Thank goodness I googled this info and came across this site before I wasted my time and petrol riding out the Midrand. When will we ever learn (:

Oooooh! Tomorrow I am going to drive away in a bloody chinese made Cherry QQ or perhaps bring home an ice-maker. Bloody good luck for someone who has never entered a competition. WTF would I want to drive a Cherry QQ. Who will service the Chinese crap. Honestly, these people asked me what my “occupation” is. I told them that I am an brain surgeon (I’m not)……and they STILL thought they could hook me into going to their Holiday Club Scam. Thanks. I have a house in Plet. So I just kept the bloody caller on the phone going through the oh so complex directions to some spot in Midrand over and over again. The caller was calling from a mobile number so I just hammered on for over an hour…..and then guess what?…..she ran out of “airtime”. The company “HMS Communications”. Get stuffed and if you phone me again, you are going get the sharp end of the double-edged razor blade which masquerades as my tongue, and a few choice expletives…..and I will run your airtime out as well. Also asked if I was maried. Replied that I am not, never have been and never will because I am not thick and stupid. I am female. Do they really think that a clearly educated female in this country would go to an unknown destination, to meet unknown people. Could be raped or hijacked. Then again, even if I did go, they would try and screw me one or another. Oh the bird’s name is Trudy!

Jeeez. I got a call from Jason (087 8052 390) for the 3rd time this year claiming that i was in line to win a car. I suspected it was a scam when they desperately wanted me to be there at all costs. I toldthem i was not available on week days and Jason said most people have said the same thing. “how about Saturday lunch time?” he said. I called his number back and they don’t know Jason is but the company name is INTERWAVE MARKETING.

Gosh I thought Lady Luck had finally found me. After all the lady who called me said her name was Faith.Anyway I decided to google car competition scams. Thanks guys for saving me the trouble of being a fool. Just cynical now about every competition. Midrand again, directions tomorrow, bring partner along, ice machine,generator,quad bike etc…

Thank you again to google. After I have the blog I called the Victor guy and told him am no longer interested in the competition, he can remove my name. Did he bother to ask me why??? I think they are aware people are not buying into this. They will keep on targeting….

Just got the call now and I really didnt buy the story and the guaranteed prize. I’ve asked them to fax the details and directions. The guy who called me is Victor, who said the directors will call me and email me the directions…Oh pls maan

Just got a phone call 15 minutes ago about winning a guaranteed prize. Was asked about whether I had a boyfriend or not. Kinda weird question for winning a prize…fine it’s a get away,but do i really have to go with my boyfriend.I also have to go to nr 28, Guildford rd, Midrand.Jeus man,after reading this blog,”I had to some investigations”,im freaked out especially after been asked to bring my ID for claiming the prize,What are they gona do with my names,number,etc…aaaaa”Screaming”.
