I think we might be spoilt
Posted by Don Packett under Uncategorized on March 12 2008 at 9:58 AMCast your mind back a few years ago. Okay a few more. Remember when you were thirsty and you walked to the tap, cupped your hand, and slowly suctioned the water from your skin chalice.

Today, we walk to the fridge and grab a chilled bottled water that we paid way more than the amount it costs to get it from your household tap, then throw the plastic bottle away, which isn’t good for the environment.
I’m no saint, I do this kind of thing all the time, but seeing this truck, one of plenty I imagine, makes me think I need to try get back to my roots and cup some water from my palm whenever I can. Or a glass, that’ll do too.
EnviroDon, out!

I agree. I make it a point to drink tap water where possible, especially as most bottled water in the UK currently costs more than petrol on a litre for litre basis.

It’s pretty close here too. Crazy.

Dear bio-degradable Don!
That little bottle of Valpre water – if it’s the glass ‘un, takes seven litres of water to manufacture and has a significant carbon footprint. So every time you go instead, to your 5-litre, door-fitting fridge container of chilled water, you’re doing a good deed for the environment.
We’ve just ditched our container mineral water suppliers and their cooler after several years and are back to the tap stuff. Did you know that in order to keep that ‘pure, mineral water’ from going off, they have a preservative agent in it?

Pure, apart from the preservatives. Bizarre.
