Fantastic. Thank you. The perfect antidote to that nasty little video by those despicable little Nazis from Free State University. This is one of those ads that make me feel good to be a South African – although it’s definitely not going to get me tuning into SABC1.
This ad was flighted nearly 5 years ago, now. It was subsequently banned – hence the name “Banned ad”. What happened was many people – presumably white people – took offense to the depiction of white people in the ad. Sadly, they – those who complained – didn’t see it in the light you lot do.
It was banned around the same time the “Any colour you want” Plascon ad with the pregnant white lady who has a black arm wrap itself around her belly was banned. People cited that the ad implied that “white women psychology need black men to be happy” as a reason for the ads banning.
Doesn’t that speak volumes about the redundancy of the traditional advertising model, that the only channel the ad was flighted on was the channel itself? Talk about preaching to the converted…!
It is exactly because white people do not think and behave like black people that we are not in this situation today.
Oh, you don’t think unbrindled breeding that increased the black population by 40 million during the same time that the white population increased by 3 million have something to do with black poverty?

Mo-T: Yeah after I posted it I was told that it has been around a while, it’s just a pity it aired on a channel I don’t normally tune in to.
Rich…!: I said the exact same thing on Saturday, the track is killer.

@ Rich, lol
. Yep. I doubt SABC2 or SABC3 would have flighted the ad if it were not SABC1 specific.
Even then, though, their definitely were a couple of the ‘unconverted’ watching, otherwise this would have gone unnoticed…

Really cool add. I love it because it provokes the mind, I just can’t figure out what it is trying to say. What’s the point? Whats the message?

Anyone know which agency made the ad?
